Peter Igel, born in 1984, is a German freelance photographer.
After leaving the German High School (Realschule) he completed an apprenticeship in IT and thereafter commenced work in his father's family-run business as technical consultant and sales executive. Peter discovered photography by sheer coincidence. In 2004 he decided to buy a digital camera. Nothing out of this world, an ordinary consumer camera. Soon after he got his first commission through a friend, a photo shoot with a couple, during which he soon discovered the limitations of his camera. He then changed to a DSLR system moving slowly but steadily forward. Away from an amateurish attitude and towards a professional approach to photography.
Since the first baby steps a few years back, Peter has matured into a serious photographer, built up his own studio and now mainly specializes in nude, portraiture and fashion photography. When asked about his work, Peter remains humble. "I have to like a photograph, It does not matter whether the subject is a beautiful woman or a stunning landscape, I just have to be happy with it. I am who I am, I follow my own style in life, and I do the same in photography."
