I was born in a summer day of the '80s at the Black Sea, in Constanta, Romania. Since I was a little girl I was attracted to how my father was procesing the photographs in a very small room with red light, but photography became my passion only 2 years ago when I started to take it seriously, although I always enjoyed taking pictures or being photographed.
I also think, as Diane Arbus used to say, this is a very naughty and perverse thing to do. I carry my camera with me everywhere, snapping everything my eye likes to see.
Since last year, I started to document and explore my body and my sexuality, as a form of saying who I really am.
This is why I believe the nude is the most complete, vivid, free, open and honest form of human portraiture - the ultimate expression of body and spirit.
My work is about the freedom to express the way I see the human being day by day in its natural state.
And in the end, as the great Helmut Newton used to say, I belive that "A woman does not live in front of white paper. She lives on the street, in a motor car, in a hotel room." |
